Arthur Thomas Brown, Sr., born at Fort Ringgold, Rio Grande City, Texas on June 14, 1928, departed August 29, 2017 on his final cruise at the age of 89. The Good Lord accepted him with open arms to be with his parents, Maria Gomez Brown and James Arthur Brown; siblings, James H. Brown, Mary Morin, Elizabeth Brown, Thomas Brown and William Brown; and his beloved wife of 50 years, Virginia Rose Peck Brown.
He is survived by, and leaves his love to his children, Ginny R. McCluskey (Gary), Arthur T. Brown, Jr.(Susan) and Michael A. Brown (Nevis). His grandchildren, who were the flowers of his family tree, he leaves them the same love he expressed the day they were all born, Stanley Sablatura (Christy), Michael McCluskey, Shannon Brown Gornell (James), Amanda Brown Smith (Steven), Lindsay Brown Lane (Russell), Matthew McCluskey (Brianne) and Jacob Brown. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, his sisters, Rose Garza and Ruth Brown, San Antonio, Texas, and his dear friend and companion, Chris Samelson.
Arthur proudly served his country and retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. He went on to work for 17 years for Civil Service at ARADMAC (CCAD). He worked for 25 years as a legal process server for Ak/ Ret Reporting, Inc., retiring at the age of 80. Arthur was the eternal optimist, always finding the good in people. He had an enthusiasm for life, spreading love and joy wherever he went. He was a humble and kind-hearted man who loved his family deeply. His ethical principles set a strong example for his family. We have lost our beloved patriarch. Dad will always be remembered as a generous, accepting, forgiving, God-loving man.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
