An angel on earth to his family David Bachor was meaningly and fittingly welcomed into the loving arms of his savior on Christmas Day. This courageous and loving heart was born to Basilio and Georgia Bachor on December 9, 1950 in Cordoba, Argentina. He was devoted and most giving to his family and all who knew him. He found great pleasure in the simple things in life such as the antics of a kitten, a spring day on the golf course, or a job well done in restoring a beautiful piece of furniture, but always found his greatest happiness in his family and friends.

His family came to the U.S. when he was 4 years old and he first attended school in Taft, which were fond memories for him. He spoke about the challenges of learning a new language as he and his brother and sister entered school speaking only Spanish, but that this enabled them to help his father learn
English as well. His family moved to Corpus Christi and he graduated from Ray High School where he was an exceptional athlete receiving many accolades such as player of the week, all region first team, and was described by his high school football coach as the best kid and player he ever coached. As a junior he was signed to farm league baseball with the Astros, but as always honored his father's wishes and continued his education and played football and baseball graduating from the University of Texas at El Paso. But he remained a loyal lifetime Astros fan and relished in their World Series victory.
His passion for sports never waned and he played softball for many years and golf until a few weeks before his passing. David loved nothing more than hitting the links on a golf course and enjoying the camaraderie of his golf buddies.

On January 18, 1975 he married Judi Waldrep and they steadfastly remained best friends, partners, and the love of each other's lives through all the trials and tribulations life brought their way. He was and will continue to be her greatest blessing.

After college David briefly worked for KIII TV where he was the weekend sports announcer and photographer. Being a Baylor fan he led one broadcast with, “Rejoice o ye Baptist soul for it is the green and gold in the Cotton Bowl.” He then joined his father in the family business, Art Wood Furniture, which David simply called “the shop.” Together they created and restored many beautiful and treasured pieces for their clients, friends and family. David considered many of his clients friends and being David developed special relationships with them. It was a ritual for friends to gather at the shop after work and on Saturdays and not uncommon for clients and friends to ask David to BBQ for them for holidays and special occasions.

David was predeceased by his parents, his much loved sister Ginny, his favorite uncle Bill David and best friend Gray Campbell. Left to try to carry on are his wife Judi, his niece Britton and nephew Barett, whom he considered his own kids, his brother Steve, his aunts Valentina Pawluk and Luba Tschanz, his uncle Sam Tschanz, numerous dear cousins, a liftetime of valued friends and his “babies:” McKenna, Scarlet, MayDay, and Toby.

Few are as gifted as David with the talent to make everyone he meets feel special. He always stayed the course and lived his life following the beliefs and values instilled in him as a child. He will remain to his family the shining example of the life well led and the eternal heartbeat of the pure soul.

David would have liked for any donations in his name to be made to any animal rescue of choice. He would like it even more just to have a glass raised in his honor.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel.
