March 12, 1937 ~ January 21, 2018 (age 80) 80 Years Old
On January 21, 2018 Sue went to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 12, 1937 in Houston to Mary Elsie Darnell and Martin Luther Moore.
She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston and was very active in the Scottish Brigade. She participated in the Annual reunions for many years. She was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, The Kidney Foundation, The Al Amin Shriners Wives Club. She was a charter member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and sang in the choir.
Sue loved her family and traveling. She and a friend started their own travel agency, The Travel Gallery. Sue also loved to dine out with her friends and enjoyed good food, fine wine and a good conversation. She was an avid bridge player and played with a special group of ladies for over 30 years. She was a number one fan of the Texas Aggies.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elsie, father, Martin Moore, her first husband, Robert M. Carroll and step son, James Hearn.
She is survived by her husband, David Hearn, son, Mitch Carroll, daughter, Mary Katherine Carroll Howry, step-daughter, Susan Janecka (Ron) of Austin, Texas, step-son, Scott Hearn of Austin, Texas, two grandsons, L.J. Sposito and Jimmy Howry, three step-grandsons, Brandon, Jordon, and Joshua Hearn and step-granddaughter, Alina Hearn, two brothers, Lynn Moore (Bonnie) of Friendswood, Texas, Morris Moore (Lisa) of Corpus Christi, Texas and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was a true Texan and had a big heart. She was dearly loved and will forever be in our hearts.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at St. John’s United Methodist Church.
