Carolina PrunedaJune 26, 1938 ~ December 22, 2017 (age 79)
Carolina Ancira Pruneda was born in Rocksprings, Texas on June 26, 1938. She entered Heaven’s Gates on December 22, 2017.
A consummate mother and homemaker, Carol was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Over the years she traveled the world with her loving husband of 49 years, John R. Pruneda (May 15, 1937-June 24, 2010), where she learned to cook many ethnic dishes. Carolina always was the life of the party who loved to dance and listen to music. In her later years she got the nickname Dancing Queen and was known for the famous song La Bamba.
Carolina had an unwavering faith in God. She was a practicing Catholic who attended church at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Pam is survived by her daughter Sonya Pruneda and three brothers, Jimmy Ancira, Luis Aguilar, Cheo Aguilar and sister Elva Lopez.
Although her daughter lovingly cared for her in the last 7 years of her life, her nieces, Renee Johnson and Rebecca Van Winkle and close and dear friends Davell Jenkins, Dominicky Dupree, Pierre Dupree and Veronica Whiteside also provided assistance with her care in recent years. The family gives them and everyone else who helped care for Carolina their greatest gratitude.
A funeral mass celebrating her life will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 2 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 2233 Waldron Rd. Corpus Christi, TX 78418. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10
