Charles Andrew Hogan III

May 16, 1944 ~ September 18, 2017 (age 73) 73 Years Old
Charles Andrew Hogan III, age 73, passed away September 18, 2017. He was born May 16, 1944 to Charles A. Hogan Jr. and Jewel A. Brown Hogan in Gonzales, Texas.
He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in 2001 with 35 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Hogan; step-children Craig Rackley (Claudia), Kathy Rackley and Candice Hogan; brothers Mike Hogan (Laura) and Bob Hogan (Rhonda); sister-in-law Patricia Jordan and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Charlie’s greatest joy was his love for his granddaughters Alyssa, Caylee and Alejandra Rackley and his great-niece and great-nephew Madelyn and Klayton Hoelscher. As a father and grandfather, his stern yet humorous approach to life created the love and support that every child should have to pursue a positive path.
Charlie was lucky to have so many wonderful and devoted friends. Whether it was fishing, going to college baseball games, enjoying Snapka’s with the old car crowd or simple road trips to casinos and interesting sites, he savored the time spent with each and every one of you. Those who considered Charlie as a great friend, please know, he saw you in the same light.
Respecting Charlie’s wishes, his ashes will be spread in the Gulf of Mexico and the family cemetery in Harwood, Texas.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
