Charlotte, lovingly known as Charlotte Marie, Mom and Nana, age 79, went to join her Lord and Savior on January 16, 2018.
Born to Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Trefflich, Jr., Charlotte lived all of her life in Corpus Christi. She is preceded in death by her parents and son, Edward Trefflich Groner.
Charlotte graduated from W.B. Ray High School and attended Mt. Vernon Junior College in Washington, D.C. She married the love of her life, Thomas L. Groner, and they were married for 61 glorious years.
A true lady in every sense of the word, Charlotte shared her giving spirit with many organizations including the Junior League where she was awarded Active Volunteer of the Year, Cotillion, Belletristic, Athenium, Sultana Baza 78, and the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre. Charlotte’s thoughtfulness and graciousness touched all who knew her.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Thomas L. Groner and their sons, Thomas L. Groner, Jr. and Gerald F. Groner (Allyson), her brother, Charles E. Trefflich III, and grandchildren, Joshua J. Groner, Jered T. Groner (Kristin), Rebecca Marie Billings (Dahlon) and great-grandchildren, Chloe May Gourley and Abel Thomas Billings and a loving extended family.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank Jovita, Diana and Rachel for their kind and compassionate care of Charlotte.
A Viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18th, at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 19th, at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Msgr. Michael Howell officiating. Burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
