USMC Major Clifford H. Greisen, 83, passed away July 21, 2017 after a long illness. He was born in Kenosha, WI and joined the Marines after graduating from high school. Cliff was a devoted husband, father, and Marine. He married Deanna Henson in 1959 and they spent 23 years on different military bases including 3 years in Morocco, North Africa. He fought in the Vietnam War, serving during the Tet Offensive and was decorated with many medals, including the Bronze Star. He retired from the Marine Corp in 1973.
After retirement from the military, Cliff obtained a masters degree in educational psychology from Oklahoma State University. Cliff became a high school counselor at Moore High School in Moore, Oklahoma and served there until his retirement in 1993. The Greisens moved to Corpus Christi where they had taken many family vacations.
Cliff joined the Flour Bluff volunteer Firefighters Department where he taught CPR, helped write grants and enjoyed the comradery of the young firefighters for many years until his health begin to fail.
Cliff is survived by his wife: Deanna, son: Dan of Hutto, Texas, daughter: Paula Greisen of Denver and son: Brian Greisen of Corpus Christi. He also had 3 granddaughters: Chelsea Simmons and Jessica Greisen of Edmund Oklahoma and Nicole Gowen of Denver Colorado, one grandson: Ben Gowen of Denver and his first great-grandson: Wyatt Cliff Simmons of Edmund, Oklahoma.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be held at a later date at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
