Delia R. Sahadi passed away peacefully on July 5, 2017, at the age of 86, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 10, 1930, to Alfonso and Hermila Reyna.
She was a loving woman who had a zest for life. She loved her family unconditionally and without reserve and was true and loyal to her friends.
She graduated from Trinity University School of Nursing in 1958. She had a remarkable career as a registered nurse at Memorial Medical Center, retiring as a nursing supervisor after 38 years. After retirement, she returned to Memorial Medical Center to continue her passion for nursing. She was admired and respected as a nurse by patients, their families, and the medical community.
She also had a fun-loving nature. In her spare time, she appreciated a lucky hand of blackjack while sometimes rubbing elbows with various celebrities.
Delia is preceded in death by her parents Alfonso and Hermila Reyna; brother, Al Reyna; and daughter, Judith Marie Sahadi. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Amel G. Sahadi; daughters, Cynthia Cantu (Gilbert), Kathryn Marie Thompson (Craig); sons, Abel Villarreal (Janelle), Omar Sahadi (Patricia), stepson, Amel J. Sahadi; sisters, Alice Cervantes (Louis), Cassie Wheeler (Sonny); nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 5:00p.m. on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Louie Cervantes, Rick Cervantes, Ron Cervantes, Gary Chaney, Jonathan Carter, A.J. Salas, Ryan Cervantes.
