James “Jim” Halmer Kinney, 67, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away on December 13, 2017 peacefully in his home. He was born in Kansas on December 04, 1950, the second to the oldest of 3 children, born to William Nugan Kinney and Barbara Jean Matthews. Jim graduated from King High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. He married the love of his life, Santos Rodriguez, on December 18, 1982 and legally married on October 14, 2015.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Jean Gillespie and brother, Robert Kinney.
He is survived by his loving spouse Santos Rodriguez, brothers, John Addison Kinney, Bill Kent Kinney, several nieces, Kristin Kinney, Alicia Kinney and other numerous nieces and nephews.
His passion was everyone that crossed his path. He always had love and compassion for everyone. His smile would brighten up all and everyone that met him. Words cannot express his passion. He loved life and was always inspiring everyone that crossed his path. He also loved animals and plants unconditionally.
He worked for The Catery for 5 years and dedicated his time anytime they needed him. He also worked with the Spay and Neuter Clinic. His passion was shared with every pet he encountered. He will be missed by everyone and will always be in our hearts and mind.
A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Seaside Reid Chapel.
