Julia Ann Tourney, 80, passed away October 12, 2017. She was born on March 18, 1937 to Alvin Fredrick and Marcelle Hugh Johnson Congleton in Beaufort, North Carolina. She graduated from Beaufort High in 1955 and enlisted in the U. S. Navy. She later went on to have a successful career as a civil service worker, as well as, editor of Flightline publication for thirty years. She was married to her husband, Keith Madison Tourney, for thirty years.
Julia Ann Tourney was a loving mother and sister.
Julia Ann Tourney is preceded in death by her parents: Alvin and Marcelle Congleton, brothers: Bruce Fredrick Congleton, “Dickie” Richard Franklin Newman, and son, Gary “Bruce” Paessun. Julia is survived by her sons: Robert Kerry Paessun (Nikki) and William “Bill” Ross Paessun (Ann), grandchildren: Autumn Paessun, J.J. Whitt (Heather), Bradley Paessun, Bryan Paessun (Erin), Scottie Paessun and Steven Paessun, seven great-grandchildren, sister: Nancy Newman McCausley and brother: William Lew Newman.
A Visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home. Interment to follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
