Welcome to the memorial page for

Mance Richardson

June 22, 2017
Mance Richardson, 70, passed away peacefully at home on June 22, 2017 surrounded by his beloved family. Mance was born on March 1, 1947 in Madill, Oklahoma. His family relocated to Corpus Christi when he was a young boy. He graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1965 and attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville. Mance was a decorated soldier and bravely served his country in the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Mance spent his entire career working in the oil and gas industry. In 1996, he formed Target Well Services, Inc. fulfilling a lifelong ambition to do it his way. His legacy continues to thrive today and the love he had for his Target family lives on.
As a young boy, he was famously mischievous and full of shenanigans which continued for the remainder of his days. He always had a twinkle in his bright green eyes and a wit that had no equal. Mance was a lover of animals, fishing, his many friends, good whiskey, beautiful women, hot summer days, but most of all his daughter, son-in-law and his three beautiful grandchildren. He was a giver, a friend to those in need, and always provided a shoulder to lean on. Mance was a truth-teller and a straight-talker, full of wisdom and strength.
Mance was a fisherman. It quieted his soul and brought him happiness and peace. Being on the water was his sanctuary. Mance loved to travel especially to his second home in the Florida Keys where he spent his days sipping drinks with little umbrellas and trying to catch the big one. Most importantly, Mance was a loving father and the best grandfather, or “Doo-Dad”, that any child could ask for.
Mance is survived by his adoring daughter, Heather Richardson Thomas, his loving son-in law, Harry (Howie) Thomas, his three cherished grandchildren, Hadley Lynnae, Ryan Danielle, and Hudson McIver Thomas, and his two beloved dogs, Chili and Little Boy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rice and Jane Richardson, his brother, Eddie Richardson and his sister, Donna Coffman.
A memorial service will be held on July 13, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78412.
In lieu of flowers, please hug your friends and family, go fishing, do a good deed in his name, and always remember to leave a big tip because that’s what Mance would want.
