Maria Zenaida Saavedra, age 85, passed away March 19, 2024. She was born on December 30, 1938 to Indalecio Martinez and Maria Ignacia Lozano in Mendez, Tamaulipas where she was raised on the Santa Isabel Ranch. Maria Zenaida married her husband, Martiniano Saavedra. She was a loving mother.
Maria enjoyed spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her devotion to God (reading the bible daily), free spirit (loved to dance), sense of adventure (racing horses in her youth), acts of service (helping others in need), endearing nature (a mother to everyone she met), wonderful cook (famous for her flour tortillas), and for her eternal love (being the most amazing mother to all her children).
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Martiniano Saavedra, her son Eduardo Saavedra, and her two sisters Maria del Socorro Rivera and Maria de la Luz Jimenez. Left to cherish her memories are her two brothers Sergio Martinez and Leonel Martinez; three daughters: Sanjuana Lynch, Aida Garcia, and Yesenia Stadler; one son Jorge Saavedra; one daughter-in-law Amy Saavedra; three son-in-laws Jerry Lynch, Desiderio Garcia, and Gregory Stadler; and nine grandchildren Dani Garcia, Marissa Dorris, Jessica Lynch, Andrew Stadler, Kaurie Saavedra, Zachary Saavedra, Morgan Saavedra, Evan Saavedra, and Kalani Saavedra.
A public visitation will be held from 10 AM to 10:30 AM on Monday, March 25, 2024 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 that same day. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
