Mary Lou Penne, 85, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2017. She was born in Waterloo, Iowa and was the daughter of Mary Katherine and Wilbur Condon. In 1957, she married Joseph C. Penne and moved to Decatur, Illinois where they lived until moving to Corpus Christi in 2005. Left behind to cherish many memories are her children and grandchildren; Julie Penne Meunier and husband, Pierre of Houston, TX; Joseph Paul Penne and wife, LaRinda and their sons Brett and Ryan of Kansas City, MO; and daughter, Sara Penne Villarreal and children, Kaitlyn and Harry Joseph of Corpus Christi. She was preceded in death by her parents, her six sisters and her one brother. Her strong love spread beyond her immediate family and extends to numerous nieces, nephews, their children, and many friends.
Mary Lou was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Altar & Rosary Society as well as the Rosary Makers of St. Phillips Church. Mary Lou will always be remembered for her warm smile, her love of laughter, her strong Catholic faith, and her service to others.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to be pallbearers are: Harry Joseph Villarreal, Brett Penne, Ryan Penne, Pierre Meunier, Harry Villarreal and David Thomas. Honorary pallbearer is Patrick Thomas.
