Michael “Mike” Edward Cassidy, III passed away June 4th, 2017 after a long illness at the age of 63.
Born in Falfurrias and raised in Corpus Christi, he had a lifelong passion for surfing, fishing, hunting, and the beach. After settling in Skidmore, he could be found wandering the ranch with a can of corn and a procession of animals following behind, or sitting at the table asking “what’s a four letter word for…” as he worked on his daily crosswords. He has a habit of mending gates with extension cords and stashing books everywhere.
Above all things, Mike was a honorable and committed family man. He was a respected figure in the oilfield for over 40 years. A graduate of King High school and Kilgore College, Mike served his country in the Army and his community with boy scouts.
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Brenda Kay Cassidy; children, Stuart Michael Cassidy and Casey Marie Cassidy; sister, Shyron Cassidy Suire and brother, Patrick Cassidy.
