Michael Paul "Bud" Gross

October 31, 1960 ~ April 22, 2024 (age 63) 63 Years Old

Obituary

Michael Paul "Bud" Gross was the second born child of Virginia and Michael Gross, born on

October 31, 1960 in Billings, MT. Bud was raised in Billings with his three siblings, Patricia "Trish," Stephen, and Christopher. He married his dream girl, Vicki Renee, on May 18, 1985. Bud was blessed with two children, Lucas "Luke" Keenan and Jennifer "Jenn" Ross. Bud's two grandchildren, Abigail "Abbey" and Noah were the apples of his eye. His eyes danced and

sparkled when he spoke of them.

Bud was the epitome of integrity and honesty. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and irreverent humor. Bud was a complex man with simple needs. His work ethic was unmatched; beginning at the age of 13, washing golf clubs at the local country club, until his last years, working as a Senior Captain for TXDOT at the Port Aransas ferry operation. Bud loved driving the boat! He mentored his coworkers, young and old. He was well respected among his peers.

Bud never liked the cold and decided to move to Las Vegas in 1997. He drove a taxi cab and found it fascinating. Again, he was good at this due to his vast knowledge of trivia which allowed him to be able to have conversations with anyone. In 2005, he and Vicki moved again, this time to Corpus Christi, Texas. He loved the sea air and the temperate climate. Bud had compassion for those who were not as fortunate as him, supporting those in need, however he could, near and far.

Bud died unexpectedly on April 22, 2024 due to complications from surgery. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. He will be missed every day by more people than he would comprehend. His spirit will never be far from any of us.

In lieu of flowers, Bud would appreciate donations in his honor to the Corpus Christi Foodbank, The Covenant House for homeless teenagers, TXDOT Employee Relief programs, World Vision, or any organization supporting animals.
