Myrtle Mae Bryce, age 94, passed away July 17, 2017. She was born on December 3, 1922 to Earl and Alva Powell in Red Springs, TX. She graduated from Texas Women’s University in 1967. She married her husband of 59 years on December 26, 1947. Myrtle Mae was employed by CCISD. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Myrtle Mae enjoyed participation in the activities of her church, as well as hobbies such as gardening, sewing, and crafts. She will always be remembered for her love of laughter, devotion to family, thoughtfulness toward others, and her attitude of gratitude.
Myrtle Mae is preceded in death by her husband: James Robert Bryce Jr., brother: Buster Powell, sisters: Thetice Allen, Barbara Malone, and Ena Hughes. She is survived by her brother: Arthur Powell of Fort Worth; children: Kim and Laurie Bryce of Corpus Christi, Holli and Greg Fry of Uvalde, Heather Bryce and William Rogers of Plano; grandchildren: David and Jennifer Fry of Uvalde, Luke and Jana Fry of Uvalde, Emily and Jody Cronenberger of San Antonio, Hosanna and Chris Hundl of Corpus Christi, Peter Fry of Uvalde, Talitha Fry of Corpus Christi, Jonathan and Jennie Bryce of College Station, James and Monica Bryce of Corpus Christi, Madeleine and Chris Munro of Columbus, Georgia, Alex and Athena Selim of Alexandria, Virginia, and Alderaan Bryce-Rogers of Plano, and nineteen great- grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home, 4357 Ocean Dr. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to follow in Seaside Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be David Fry, Luke Fry, Peter Fry, Jonathan Bryce, James Bryce and Alderaan Bryce-Rogers.
