Raul Trujillo

Raul Trujillo Sr, 93, died peacefully at home on March 17, 2024. He was born March 5, 1931, in Corpus Christi, Texas to his parents Enrique and Refugia Trujillo. He graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1948 and enlisted into the military. He proudly served the United States Air Force in the Korean War from 1948 to 1952. While he served, he met the love of his life Nilka Diaz, who also served in the Air Force, and they married September 6,1952. They both created a wonderful family for the next 60 years.

Raul was employed and retired from the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) for 35 years. In his lifetime he enjoyed fishing and was an avid golfer. As a member of the Pan American Golf Association, Raul served in several compacities where he enjoyed and attended many events. But most of all he loved playing the game of golf every chance he got.

Raul is preceded in death by his lovely wife Nilka; parents Enrique and Refugia; sisters Matilda (Jesse) Sanchez, Ophelia (David) Lopez, Elvira (Enastacio) Espitia; brothers Henry (Lydia), Inez (Lupita), Celestino (Adela), Richard and Tomas (Viola).

Raul is survived by his sons; Raul Jr. (Sandra), Michael (Susan), David, Joseph, sister-in-law Alicia Trujillo; 5 grandchildren Tony, Danielle (Marcus), Nicholas (Brianne) and Joseph (Sarah) and David. 9 great grandchildren; Valerie, Adrian, Jacob, Zariah, Rainn, Thomas, Charlie, Alex and Madison along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Raul’s life will be held on April 5, 2024, at the Seaside Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00pm. The burial service will follow at the Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery and begins at 2:00pm.
