I was fortunate to have met such an accomplished and amazing human being. There was never a time that I didn't hear such positive and interesting stories about Dr. Fordtran. I was lucky to have watched over him for the time I did...God Bless you and your Family....

Dr. Fordtran was my doctor and friend beginning in the 1960s. He doctored me through several medical emergencins beginning in 2005. In 2011 -12 his friendship and willingness to stand by me using his medical knowledge and strength of character handed my family a legal victory against great odds. His conversations during times of medical attention and friendship were expert, fun and funny. The stories he shared with smiles on his heart brought me and my family joy as well as comfort. His mind was brilliant and kind. We miss him. Our prayers are for God's care and comfort to each family member during this time of great loss.

What a loss to the community. Dr. Fordtran was such a joy to work with during the years I worked at Spohn Shoreline. He was always happy & very pleasant and easy to talk to. He will surely be missed. Prayers for the family during this time. May you all find healing knowing he was so well loved and appreciated thru the years.

Dr. Fordtran brought good medical information and a lot of humor to the medical community, sometimes at the same time. Some of us old-timers remember the "crock's trilogy" that consisted of 3 questions: Do your teeth itch? Is your sputum purple? And does your stool glow in the dark?
He always had a joke, some I heard many times, but I would always laugh because he was my friend.
The worst thing he could ever call some one was "Aggie nurse"!
Rest in peace, Dr. Fordtran, your reward awaits you.

Dr. Fordtran always brought great medical information and a lot of humor to the medical community, sometime both at the same time. A lot of us "old-timers" will remember the "Crock's trilogy" when he would ask 3 questions: Do your teeth itch? Is your sputum purple? And does your stool glow in the dark?
And the worst thing he could call you was "an Aggie nurse"!
Rest in peace, Dr. Fordtran, your reward awaits you.

Dr. Fordtran was my father's cardiologist for 37years. Our family is saddened by his passing, and we extend our condolences and prayers to his family. We will forever remember Dr. Fordtran with respect and admiration for saving Ramon Castañeda's life countless times, for going above and beyond his duties as a physician, and for being so much more than a doctor to my father. Rest In Peace, Dr. Fordtran...

Dear Caroline;
My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Dr. Fordtran was a giant in the medical community. I have so many memories of him from my early days in respiratory therapy and later as a physician recruiter. He had that cigar in his mouth, had his medical bag on a cart with all of the patients' charts - making rounds at Shoreline! Great physician. I wish you and your family peace and grace during this time of loss.

Sincerely,
Tricia O'Brien

I remember the good doctor just last year relating to me the story of his first patient.I believe he was 5 or 6 ,playing with his little friend., his friend had a pain in his side.Doc said, , lay down right here , I 'll be back. He went to his mother to get a knife to start working on him. Mom stopped the purposed operation.Later that day his friend was taken to a doctor, the friends appendix was removed.Our family was fortunate to have such a caring, loving person , as Doctor and Friend.
