Rogelio R. Ramirez Sr., age 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 9th 2018. Rogelio was born on January 26th 1931 to Plutarco and Isabel Ramirez in Robstown, Texas.  He was raised in Petronila, Texas.  Rogelio attended Robstown High School and played football for his school.  Although he never graduated from High School, he later went on to obtain 2 Masters Degrees, one in Business Administration and the other in Science.  After high school Rogelio enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1953 to 1956 as a PFC. He married his wife Olga H. Ramirez in October 1957 and they had 60 happy years together.  He was employed by the City of Corpus Christi's Fire Department and retired with 31 years of service with the rank of Captain. While employed Rogelio was very active in the Firefighters Union and helped to negotiate some of the benefits for the Firefighters' contract that membership enjoy today.    
 Rogelio was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great- Grandfather and friend.  He will be truly missed by all who loved and knew him. The man had a great wry sense of humor and loved to fish, hunt as well as play dominoes. During his boys' youth, he coached them in Little League Baseball.  
 He is preceded in death by his parents Plutarco and Isabel Ramirez, Brothers Rodolfo, Marcial, Alfredo, Jesus, Ernesto, Sisters Altagarcia Ruiz, Elisa Saucedo and Daughter Diane E. Ramirez. Rogelio is survived by his loving wife Olga, Brother Plutarco Jr., Sister Oralia Ramirez, Sons Roger (Brenda), Carlos and Rick and daughter Debbie Olgin(Sam). Grandchildren Lisa Wood, Shannon Roberts (Michael), Jacob Ramirez, Zachary Ramirez (Krista), Lauren Ramirez, Rachel Olgin, Jared Olgin, Alex Baysinger and Great Grandchildren Andrea Garza, Alicia Castillo, Xander Wood, Merrick Wood, Kathryn Trevino, Gavin Ramirez, Skyla Satcher and Great- Great- Grandchild Avery Decoteau. 
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the Hospice care Nurses with "Nurses On Wheels", Dr. Bonailli and RN Mary Garcia.
A Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Seaside Funeral Home on Saturday, January 13, 2018. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Seaside Memorial Park.
