Maria Trinidad Mendiola, 102, entered eternal rest on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at her residence in Corpus Christi, TX. She was born on May 27, 1915 to Eulalia Romo and Rosalio Martinez in Aguas Calientes, Mexico. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Cosme Mendiola, whom she married on February 11, 1939. Also preceding her in death were her eleven siblings.
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Rene Mendiola (Terri); granddaughters, Belinda Mendl (David Barrera), Theresa Moore (G.R.), Tara Jones (Calvert); grandson, Julian Bennet; 6 great-grandchildren, Miles Moore (Taylor), Alexandra Moore, Savannah Moore, Kenedy Moore, Laramie Jones and Kaycee Jones; 2 great-great-grandchildren, Emma Moore and Kenedy Moore.
Trinidad devoted her life to her family and homemaking. She was an extremely talented seamstress and jewelry maker who also enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She will be missed by her family and all those whose lives she touched.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to her wonderful caretakers, Normalinda, Gracie, Janie, Terry, Trini, Tere and Maria. They brightened her day, brought dignity and joy to her life, filled her with love and made every day special. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff at Angel Bright Home Health and Aadi Hospice for the love and care they showed her during the rough times; your service was an amazing blessing.
Family will receive friends on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 5-9pm at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7pm that same evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 1pm at the Corpus Christi Cathedral, 505 N. Upper Broadway. Burial will follow to Seaside Memorial Park. A gathering in celebration of her life will follow the committal service at the home of Theresa & GR Moore.
