Dr. William T. Malone, DDS., 81, passed away February 9, 2018. He was born December 06, 1936 to Johnnie Mae Hopkins Malone and William T. Malone, in Red Bay, Alabama. He attended high school in Birmingham, Alabama for three years, and graduated from W.B. Ray in Corpus Christi in 1954.
He attended Del Mar College for one year, where he played on the men’s varsity tennis team. In January 1959, he graduated from the University of Texas Austin, with a BS degree in pharmacy. At UT, he was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity and Phi Delta Chi professional Pharmacy Fraternity. He was also a walk-on with the UT Varsity Tennis Team.
Bill served his country in the US Air Force reserve, receiving an honorable discharge. After graduation, he worked as a retail pharmacist in Corpus Christi until 1964. In 1960, he met Sharon Hailey, and they were married November 3rd, 1961, they moved to Houston, where he earned a DDS Degree from the UT school of Dentistry (class of 1968). He and Sharon returned to Corpus Christi, where he had a family practice until his retirement for health reasons.
Bill loved tennis, fishing, golf, and in later years, gardening. Bill was very active in fishing conservation, and was a founder of the Corpus Christi GCCA chapter, where he worked hard on getting trout and red fish established as game fish.
He also served on the board of directors of the local and state organizations. In 1986, he was named as a trustee emeritus of the GCCA. Bill was also a long time member of the infamous Ananias Trout and Red Fish Club, where he served as president six times.
He is survived by his wife, of 56 years, Sharon and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his mother, Johnnie Mae Nix, stepfather, Willie L. Nix, and a brother, John R. Faust.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. Following the Memorial Service the family will be receiving friends at the Corpus Christi Country Club.
