Obituary

Alfred Ray Tumlinson, Sr., age 83, passed away December 29, 2020. He was born June 20, 1937 to Lloyd and Gladys Tumlinson in Carrizo Springs, Texas, where he was raised and graduated high school in 1956. He enlisted in the Army in 1959 and joined the Tank Division and separated from the service in 1960. He was a Corporal at time of separation and awarded the Distinguished Marksman.
Alfred married his wife, Edith Adams, of 61 years on July 11, 1959. He was employed by Citgo Refining. He was a loving father, son, brother and grandfather.
Alfred enjoyed participation in hunting, fishing, and gardening. He will always be remembered his love, laughter and devotion to his family. He loved his grandchildren so very much and they him. He was their loving Pawpaw. He had lots of tales of old times in Carrizo Springs. He was a descendant of the original Austin- Old 300.
Alfred is preceded in death by his parents, Gladys and Lloyd Tumlinson, brother Billy Joe Tumlinson, sister-in-law Doris, and brother Robert Earle Tumlinson.
Alfred is survived by wife Edith Tumlinson, son Alfred Tumlinson (Diana Tumlinson), son Roger Tumlinson (Stephanie Tumlinson), Brother Gerald Tumlinson of Ft. Worth, TX, Sisters Shirley Faucet of Corpus Christi, TX and Dorthy Harper (Wayne Harper) of Corpus Christi, TX. His loving grandchildren Brady Tumlinson (Megan Tumlinson) of Spring, TX, Brooke Hensel (David Hensel) of Corpus Christi, TX, Taylor Tumlinson of Longview, TX; Holden Tumlinson of Portland, TX and Madelyn of Portland, TX. Great grandchild Parker Reese Hensel and also numerous nieces and nephews.

Extended family is Gabe Aguilar of New Braunfels, TX; Drew and Kelly Self of Sinton, TX; Stanley Joe and Lauren Pinkston of Calallen, TX; along with 7 great grandchildren.

He also had many loving friends and neighbors.

He will be dearly missed. His sweet nature and sweet smile will always be remembered. “I miss you honey. “

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Second Baptist Church, Corpus Christi, TX (6701 S. Staples St.)
