Alfredo O. Martinez passed away July 16, 2018. He was born on March 22, 1936 to Miguel and Efigenia Martinez in Laredo, Texas. He was married to Yolanda Falcon Martinez for fifty three years they had three children together.
Alfredo retired from Corpus Christi Army Depot after thirty three years of service. Through his work as an aircraft mechanic he traveled to many different countries such as Germany, Japan, South Korea, El Salvador, Saudi Arabia, Rome, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska and almost every U.S. State. Dad’s priority in life was the love for our Lord. The rosary was a daily devotion without interruptions. He was raised with strong principals, morals, example, devotion, commitment and was a very giving person. Alfredo was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather. He loved his trips to Coushatta and Kickapoo. He enjoyed doing for others and cherished his wife and family. He will be missed immensely.
Alfredo is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Miguel, Roberto, Leopoldo and Rodolfo Martinez and sisters: Eva Ramirez and Olivia Diaz. Left to cherish his memories are his wife: Yolanda Falcon Martinez and their children: Teresa (Andy) Garcia, Mark (Gina) Martinez and Belinda (Lee) Salinas. Alfredo also has two surviving daughters from a prior marriage: Deborah Martinez and Annette (Andy) Torres. He is also survived by his brother: Encarnacion (Margarita) Martinez and sisters: Olga Rogerio and Graciela Serna. Alfredo is survived by his eleven grandchildren: Roman, Aracely, Joshua, Corey, Thomas, Valerie, Brandon, Matthew, Ysa, Anthony and Christi. He also has eleven great- grandchildren: Kinley, Lane, Cayden, Kendall, Kyson, Amy Hope, Laura, Reuben, Julyssa, Joshua and Angel.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday July 18, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
