Antonio Cruz Garcia, age 97, passed on July 25, 2020. He was born and spent all his life in Corpus Christi. Early in his career he worked out at sea on large cargo vessels including a merchant marine vessel but spent most of his career working for Corpus Christi Medical Center until his retirement. He loved fishing and was ready to go when an invitation came his way. He was married to Maria "Mary" Chavez Garcia for close to 70 years and missed her so much that he left this earth to join her in heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hilaria and Alberto Garcia, his loving wife Maria, his siblings Avelina, Manuel, Marcelo, Pedro, Thomas, Rodolfo, and Reynaldo along with longtime friends, co-workers, and in-laws.
Antonio leaves behind to cherish his memories his children Cristina Guevara, Antonio (Criselda) Garcia, Jr., Irma (Daniel) Valverde, Reymundo (Diana) Garcia, Rene Garcia, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Gratitude and special blessings to the children of Antonio & Maria Garcia who showed their strong love for their parents in seeing to their care and allowing them to spend their last years at home. Cristina, your care for mom and dad showed unmeasurable devotion.
