Augusta Bradley

January 18, 1934 ~ September 11, 2021 (age 87) 87 Years Old

Obituary

Augusta Marie Bradley, 87, entered eternal life on September 11, 2021. She was born on January 18, 1934 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Francis and Pauline Sullivan. She was raised in Corpus Christi and attended Incarnate Word Academy where she was a cheerleader. After high school she met and married Harvey Bradley. Augusta and Harvey spent the next 38 years together. She was a devoted housewife and a wonderful mother to their seven children. Augusta was a devout member of the Catholic Church and loved saying her rosary every morning.

In 1972 the family moved to Houston, Texas where they lived for 12 years. When the children were grown and having families of their own Harvey and Augusta moved to Brenham, Texas where her love of antiques led to her owning a consignment shop called The Cottage Coop.

In 1990 Augusta moved back to her hometown of Corpus Christi to be close to her sisters and to her daughter Camille and son-in-law, Ronny. She and her sister Pauline were both very talented artists and loved to hand paint and decorate gourds. Their creations were truly amazing. They could make a gourd into just about anything including swans, wrens, dolls and turkeys. They started out with the fall season and then began decorating gourds for Christmas. They made gourds into Santas, ornaments, and even created a nativity scene gourd. They were both unbelievably talented ladies. They left us with many beautiful creations that we can enjoy for years to come and pass down for generations.

Later in life after Augusta was no longer able to do her artwork she continued to enjoy the things she
had always loved-her family and her home! She enjoyed visiting with her neighbors, taking care of her
plants and flowers, sitting by the window watching the birds come to her birdfeeder, drinking coffee,
watching her favorite television shows and reading her morning newspaper!

Augusta loved her family and loved life but is now joyfully reunited with her loved ones who have gone
before her-her parents, her three brothers, Frank, Larry, and Joe Sullivan and her sister Pauline
Baimbridge. She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Bailey, her two daughters, Cindy Havard and Camille
Chapman (Ronny) and her five sons, Richard (Karrie) Bradley, Doug Bradley, Tim (Martha) Bradley, Patrick (Sherry) Bradley, and Mathew (Jennifer) Bradley; six granddaughters, Whitney Mann (Lawrence), Amanda Moore (James), Abbey Pearson (Ken), Annie Ruesga (Eddy), Megan Bradley, and Madeline Bradley; five grandsons, Kevin Powell, Nathan Havard, Joshua Bradley, Jacob Bradley and Ryan Bradley; seven great- granddaughters; two great- grandsons; two great-great granddaughters and one great-great grandson; numerous loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and extended family.

The family would like to thank the Villa Northwest and Harbor Hospice for the loving care given to Augusta during her last years and also to Augusta's special caregiver and our friend, Elma Munoz, we can't thank you enough for the kindness and tender loving care you gave to her during the last few months of her life and we are extremely grateful to you.
