Balde Valdez Barrera, 85, passed away on February 10, 2021. Balde was born in Beeville, Texas to Ramon and Pilar Barrera. He grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas.
He was a man of strong faith, a wonderful sense of humor and gifted storyteller. He met the love of his life, Carolina, his wife of 62 years and together they raised 4 children. He worked for Berry’s Fabricators for over 30 years. After retirement he enjoyed spending his mornings with the Coffee Club and his ranch. He had countless friends and brought laughter and joy to so many.
Here to cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Carol Barrera; son, Ronnie Barrera; daughter, Patricia (Christopher) Jeffrey; daughter, Prescilla (Aldo) Gonzales; 9 grandchildren: Gabriela Barrera, Grace, Isabella, Sarah and Joseph Jeffrey, Joaquin, Belicia, Diego and Lorena Gonzales; his brother, Brady Barrera; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Carol Ann Barrera; his parents; his brother, Raymond Barrera and his cherished sister, Mary Elia Poses.

A recition of the Holy Rosary will begin at 1:00 pm at Our Lady of Prepetual Help Catholic Church, Friday, February 19, 2021. A Funeral Mass will follow at 1:30 pm, that same day, with Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Corpus Christi.
