Barbara Lee Spruce

Joyfully received into her heavenly home, Barbara Lee Shirley Spruce passed away on July 7, 2018 at her home in Boerne, Texas with her children by her side.

Barbara was born to Arvin Roy Shirley and Geneva Beatrice Foster Shirley in Corpus Christi, Texas on March 10, 1941. She married the love of her life, Robert “Bobby” Joe Spruce in 1959 and together they raised two children in Corpus Christi until they retired and moved to Boerne in 2001. “Nana” was deeply loved by children and her seven grandchildren and she adored them all, and was blessed to have known and held her first great grandchild.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby; and her dear sister-in-law, Vickye Spruce Mills.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra (Rick) Martini; son, James (Donna) Spruce; brother Bart (Victoria) Shirley; her seven grandchildren, Tyler (Bethany), Sarah, Ryan, Raegan, Rylee, Jordan and Chelsea; great granddaughter, Lucy; and many dear relatives and friends.

Our sincerest love and gratitude to Lisa, Nana’s “Angel,” who dedicated herself so unselfishly to Nana’s daily and nightly care. These last few months with you by her side made her life, and ours, so much better.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 12 P.M. at Seaside Funeral Home with Funeral Services to follow at 1 P.M.
