Bertha T Martinez, 86, passed away on August 31, 2017. She was born on May 6, 1931 to Rodolfo Palacios Tortolero and Leonila Gomez-Llanos in Mazatlán, Mexico. She was married to Oscar Martinez on February 9, 1956 until he passed away on February 2, 1984. They have four wonderful children, Bertha Garcia (Alex), Leticia Perez (Michael), Gina Benavides (Sam) and Oscar Martinez (Zari). Bertha was also blessed with 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren all of who lovingly called her “Mimo”.
Bertha will always be remembered for her faith and devotion to her church. She was an active member of Most Precious Blood Church participating in the Our Lady of the Guadalupe Society and Hospital Ministry. She was also active in Lady of Schoenstatt and a member of the prayer group “Caminos De Fe”. She was a member of the Cursillo de Damas #241, 2006.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Seaside Reid Chapel, 4357 Ocean Dr., Corpus Christi, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, 3502 Saratoga Blvd, Corpus Christi, Texas. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
