Obituary
Mrs. Billie Jo Sorenson, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, returned to the arms of our loving God on June 26, 2019- just two weeks shy of her 92nd birthday.
Billie was born in Dodge City, Kansas on July 10, 1927 to Helen and William Erdman. She married her husband, Captain Adrian Elsworth Sorenson Jr.(U.S. Navy), on June 24, 1955. They shared a wonderful 45 years together until his passing in December of 2000.
Billie is survived by her two sons: Dr. Robert Adrian Sorenson (Rula) of Richmond, Virginia and Jefferson Dane Sorenson (Bivianna) of Houston, Texas; her grandchildren: Haley, Zachary and Isabella Sorenson as well as several nieces and nephews.
Billie was a part of the U.S. Navy and later became a teacher at W.B. Ray High School- she served both our country and our community. She loved traveling and taking trips and had wonderful things to say about Branson, Missouri and encouraged everyone to visit there if they could. She was a staple amongst her neighborhood, and was like a mother to many.
During her final months Billie would often reminisce and express gratitude for her almost 92 years of life full of love and good memories. She would say, “I lived a good life, but now I’m ready to go to heaven.” She will be dearly missed by family, friends and neighbors. We will take comfort in knowing she is in heaven, at peace and rejoined with her loving husband once again.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Billie’s loving friends and neighbors and Century Hospice who attended to her during her time of need. Your love, care and compassion will never be forgotten, Thank you.
A Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery, where she will be buried with her husband.
