Blake Quinton Stevens, 34, of Corpus Christi died February 7, 2019. He was born on June 5, 1984 in Corpus Christi. He attended Flour Bluff ISD and the swim coach recognized his ability as a swimmer, when he was in Junior High. He recruited Blake early, and as he entered FBHS as a freshman, he was on the team. Blake was the team captain of the swim team, made it to regional’s in Austin and held the back stroke record of 56.03 at FBHS for 10 years. He attended UT Austin for a short time and received his Associates Degree in Liberal Arts from Del Mar College in Corpus Christi.
Blake is survived by his parents Ryan and Christie Stevens, Elizabeth and John Hazlett; his sister Morgan Louvier (Dane) brother Aubrey Stevens (Amber) and his soul-mate Saydes Ortiz. He also leaves his niece and nephews Lorelei Louvier, Paxton Louvier and Kayson Stevens; his maternal grandparents Nan Garrett, Fred and Madeline Morgan and paternal grandparent Gen Ballard. He is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles Kelly Clements, Nan Garrett Edwards (Bill), John J Garrett (Courtney), Terry Stevens, Bobby Stevens (DorRae), Joe Stevens (Cheryl), Stephanie Morris (Chip), Leah Patterson, Rebecca McCulloch (Tom), Sarah Conley and Verna Sprowls. Blake leaves behind so many friends that have reached out to various family members to give love, support, strength and share memories. Blake had a penchant to make us all laugh and see the crazier side of life. He was generous with his time and love, worked hard, sang loudly and felt deeply. Blake loved all things aquatic ~ especially penguins. Blake is now in the company of two family members that he loved dearly; Michael Clements and John Garrett (Big Poppa) and Queequay undoubtedly is on his lap. Rest in peace Muss.
