Brenda J Rives

Brenda Joyce Rives, 75, passed away in her home, Friday, October 26, 2018 from a long illness.

Brenda was a lifelong resident of Corpus Christi and attended Mary Carroll High School. She was married to the late C.J. Rives and at the time of his passing, they had been married 52 years.

Brenda was an entrepreneur, and business owner, along with her husband C.J. and son, Steven. They opened their own commercial subcontracting business, JARCO, which continues today.

Brenda was also devoted housewife. She was an avid gardener and artist. Her gardening won many accolades including the Caller-Times “Yard of the Month”.

She was born to the late Roddie Roy and late Laverne Moore in 1943.
Brenda has two siblings: a sister, Rita Stone (deceased) along with 3 nephews; Lance, Leslie & Lane Howard along with a brother, Roddie Moore.

Brenda has a daughter Robin Rives Boyd, married to Jimmy R. Boyd and two sons, Joe C. Rives and Steven Rives, married to Jennifer M. Rives.

Brenda also is grandmother to Cody Boyd (wife Emily), Joshua Boyd (wife, Megan), Dalton Rives, Ryan Rives and Peyton Rives.

Her family continues to grow with her great-grandchildren: Tyler Boyd, Caden Boyd, Owen Boyd and due in a couple of weeks: Hattie Boyd.

Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday November 2, 2018 at Seaside Reid Chapel followed by a Service at 1:00 p.m.
