Obituary
C. Edwin Prichard, Jr., was a beloved and well respected member of this community. He was born in Big Spring, Texas on May 13, 1931 and he grew up in Midland, Texas.
Ed attended SMU in Dallas where he met the love of his life, Marjorie Ann Reynolds. They married on August 22, 1953 in Dallas. This month, the family will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary. After Ed graduated from SMU Law in 1954, he served 2 years in the United States Army in the Counter Intelligence Corps.
In 1956, Marjorie and Ed moved to Corpus Christi with their son, Charles and soon welcomed another son, David. Ed began his law career here in Corpus Christi, serving as Assistant District Attorney and later as Assistant County Attorney and County Attorney.
After several years, Ed established the law firm of Prichard, Peeler, and Smith. In 1992, Ed retired from the firm, then known as Prichard, Peeler, Hatch, Cartwright, Hall and Kratzig.
Ed was an avid golfer, tennis player and handball player. He also enjoyed many days hunting including bow hunting.
He and Marjorie traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. A prolific reader, he especially enjoyed biographies.
Ed went to a better place on Monday, August 6. His devoted wife Marjorie was by his side.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, Charles Edwin and Beulah Griffin Prichard. His is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie; his son, Charles with his wife, Marlene and their family, Lauren and Bob Nichols along with Marshall, Drayton and Robbie; his son, David and his wife, Cristina; and his grandchildren, Maria and Daniel.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Parkway Presbyterian Church where Ed and Marjorie were long-time members.
The family wishes to express our appreciation for the compassionate care he received from Juan, Mike, Kenneth, Pam and Brandy.
