Carl D. Webb, 93, of Corpus Christi, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 at home with his loving wife, Dottie and his daughter, Gayle by his side. The Lord wrapped his arms around him and carried him home. Carl was born in Keifer, Oklahoma, to Claud and Ruth Webb.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Claud and Ruth Webb; Margaret and Janiece Webb; two sisters, Virginia Haber and Marie Deckard; and his son, Brent Harding. Carl is survived by his wife of 13 years, Dottie Holloway Webb; his niece, Sharon Walker (Rusty); two sons, Cliff Webb (Carol) and Wayne Vann; two daughters, Carolyn Jones (Bob) and Gayle Caouette (Rick); eight grandchildren, C.R., Cody, Carl Daniel, Christopher, Gena, Jordan, Leslie and Allison; and 14 great-grandchildren.
At the age of 16, Carl signed up to serve in the Merchant Marines. He served in the U.S. and Japan for four years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, which led him to become a Texas Game Warden. He loved his job and retired after 20 years. After his retirement, he kept himself busy with numerous successful business ventures. Later in life Carl spent most of his time traveling with his wife, Dottie and spending time with his family. He loved being around all of his family; however, his great-grandchildren, Caylan, Cavern, Hudson, Peyton, Sawyer and Maverick brought him so much joy. They called him “Paps” and they loved him dearly.
Carl was a family man and loved being around people. He was just a sweet loving man with a big heart. His laughter was contagious and his smile unforgettable. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He had a great sense of humor and you couldn’t help but smile in his presence. Laughter always followed when he told one of his stories; he was definitely a great story teller. Carl was a dear friend to so many. The type of friend you could always count on for love and support. Carl touched many lives and he will be dearly missed. He had a wonderful life and we are all so thankful that up until the last week of his life, he was still going to dinner with family and friends, shopping, traveling, gambling and just enjoying life.
Memorial Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel.
