Celina Zepeda

March 3, 1946 ~ July 3, 2021 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Obituary

Celina Zepeda, age 75, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born on March 3, 1946, to Leon and Inez Ramirez in Laredo, Texas. Not long after graduating Zapata High School in 1964, she married the love of her life and soulmate, Ovidio Zepeda, on December 17, 1966. Rarely spending time apart, they spent a wonderful 52 years together until his passing on June 15, 2018.

More than anything, Celina enjoyed spending time with her close-knit family, children, and grandchildren. She always looked forward to her trips to Las Vegas with her husband and sisters. She spent many afternoons watching her beloved Houston Astros on television. Her fun-loving personality, complimented with a shiny pair of yellow shoes, was a perfect match for her bright and colorful wardrobe. She enjoyed her shopping excursions, always looking for those perfect outfits to wear on the next adventure with her sisters and sister-in-law.

Not a day went by that she did not make her several dozen phone calls to check in with her large circle of family and friends to see how they were doing, what they might be cooking, and what their upcoming plans might be. She was always a confidant, and any conversation with her made you feel better than when it started.

Celina is preceded in death by her husband, Ovidio Zepeda; parents, Leon and Inez Ramirez; and brother-in-laws, Rene Guerra and Adolfo Cuellar.

Celina is survived by her children, Veronica Foster (Marc), Claudia Soliz (Gabriel Martinez), and Noel Zepeda; grandchildren, Gabriela, AJ, Briana, Savannah and Brayden; siblings, Rebeca Guerra and Maria Inez Camarena (Jose), sister-in-law, Otila Cuellar, and numerous nephews and nieces.
