Charles Guerrero, age 53, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022. He was born on July 25, 1968 to Andrew and Carmen Guerrero in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was raised in Austin, Texas and attended LBJ High School. Charles graduated from Southwest Texas University in 1993. He married his wife of 24 years, Roxanna Rubio Guerrero on June 21, 1997. Charles was employed by Corpus Christi ISD for 26 years where he worked at several schools (South Park MS, Fannin ES, Los Encinos ES, Zavala ES, Veterans HS, and Browne MS). Charles began his teaching career with Austin ISD, where he taught three years at Pearce MS. This year, he was completing his 29th year as an educator. He had hoped to do one more year before retiring.

Charles was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He enjoyed biking, playing with his dogs, fishing, printing shirts, watching football and basketball, and keeping up with the News. He will be remembered for his strong faith in God, devotion to family, love of fishing and politics, and his humor.

Charles is preceded in death by his father, Andrew Guerrero Jr.; his brother, Andrew Guerrero III; his uncles, Ruben Guerrero, Armando Guerrero, Robert Guerrero, and Reynaldo Guerrero; his grandparents Andrew Guerrero and Celia Marruquin Guerrero.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Roxanna Guerrero, of Corpus Christi; his daughters, Andrea Marisol Guerrero, Ana Marisa Guerrero, and Alicia Maria Guerrero; his mother, Carmen Guerrero, of Austin; his brother Michael Guerrero, of Austin, married to Rebeca Guerrero, daughters Alyah Guerrero and Natalyah Guerrero; his sister-in-law, Angella Guerrero, and daughter AshLee Guerrero; Father-in-law Alfonso Rubio Jr.; Brother-in-laws, Alfonso C Rubio III, of Rio Grande City, married to Catherine Escobar Rubio, daughters Rebeca Rosario Rubio and Olivia Susana Rubio, and son Alfonso Catarino Rubio IV; Albert Rubio, of Colorado, married to Dori Rubio, Alexander Rubio, of Austin, and Victor Rubio, of Buda, married to JoAnna Rubio, and sons Victor Rubio, Joseph Rubio, and Ryan Rubio, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved French Bulldog, Mongo.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Sunday, January 23rd, 2022 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel (4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412). A Rosary Prayer Service will be held at 6:00 pm that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Tomasz Kozub at 10:00 am on Monday, January 24, 2022 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church (2045 18th Street, Corpus Christi, TX 78404). The burial will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are David Chapa, James Guerrero, Mark Guerrero, Michael Guerrero, Manuel “Zoom” Maizumi, David Martinez, Eric Puente, and Alfonso C Rubio III.
