Charles Preston Pressley

September 11, 1944 ~ July 9, 2021 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Obituary

Charles passed peacefully from this life on July 9, 2021 after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. Although he left this world far too soon, Charles will always be remembered as a strong man of faith, who lived to selflessly serve and educate others.

Born September 11, 1944, Charles grew up in Taft, Texas with his three sisters: Dorothy, Elizabeth, and Ellen Sue, and was son to Calvin and Anna Rosalie Pressley. At the age of eighteen, he met his wife Rena and together they built and shared a life of love with over 50 years of marriage. In his professional life, Charles worked as a production controller for Corpus Christi Army Depot for 31 years and retired early to enjoy his true passions: hunting, fishing and quality time with family.

Charles was more than a loving husband and father. To many, he was a mentor, a confidant, or a formidable competitor, always enjoying the opportunity to educate his opponents on a skillset that he had already perfected. His favorite days were spent taking early morning trips down to Baffin, in an open field during bird season or at the deer lease sipping his favorite cocktail, following an afternoon in the deer blind. He relished the opportunity to connect with family and friends over a good meal with endless stories of prior adventures. No matter the occasion, Charles could always be found with a smile on his face and a witty comment to someone within earshot. He was truly the light and leader of the entire family.

Charles is preceded in death by his mother and father, Anna Rosalie and Calvin Pressley; and his sisters, Elizabeth Daughtry and Dorothy Perney.

He is survived by his wife, Rena Pressley and their two children, Lori (David) Bedell and Trent (Kristel) Pressley; his sister, Ellen Sue Noel, and his grandchildren, Allison Burda Hoffman, Braden Pressley, Bradley Burda, and Kathryn Burda.
