Claudette (nee Calvin) Stockman passed away Sunday, May 30th in Houston, Texas after an illness.
Claudette was very proud of the work she did as a young engineering student at the University of Houston on the NASA space program in the late 1960’s including on the historic moon landing flight in 1969. She then spent the early years of her adulthood as a housewife raising her 3 children. She loved science fiction, especially Star Trek. After she raised her children and became a caretaker of her father and older brother and sister, she became a grandmother. She was a spiritual explorer her whole life and loved learning new things. Her laughter and joy will be missed.
Claudette was preceded in death by her mother and father, Joseph A. and Hazel Calvin, Sr. and her 3 siblings, Mildred Genevieve “B” Kirbow (Martin), Joseph Alfred “Pat” Calvin, Jr. and Gary Mathew Calvin. Also her husband Clifford Daniel Stockman.
Claudette is survived by her 3 children, Christen Ann “Christy” Stockman (Wes Burkett), Jack Joseph Stockman and Carl Martin Stockman. And also her dear life-long friend Donna Normand. Claudette is also survived by her grandchildren, Megan Elena Burkett, Malane Danielle Stockman (Connor Cochran), James Alexander Stirling, Carl Ayden Stockman and Trinity Marie Stockman.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 21, 2021 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel with a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m. that same afternoon. Inurnment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park. There will also be a service in Houston. Claudette and her family would be honored by donations to Heifer International.
