Obituary

Colleen Clara Roeder, 91, passed away on May 26, 2022 at home with her daughter, son, and son-in-law.
We enjoyed Mom, whom was the center of our family unit. It was an honor and a blessing to have her with us. Her smiling face and advice will be greatly missed.
Colleen was born April 4, 1931 in Corpus Christi, TX to parents James Colon Floyd and Clara Merl Morton Floyd. Colleen attended Corpus Christi High School, worked at her Uncle Allen’s hospital, and went on to retire from Coastal States Gas Producing Company. She raised six children, mostly as a single mother, before moving up North with Ned William Roeder. Ned was a wonderful man and stepfather to her grown children. They were both happily married for 32 years, until his passing in 2010. Colleen’s love for her family, compassion for others, and noteworthy strength to keep moving forward, have always been characteristic traits deeply admired by her friends and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and neighbor.
Colleen enjoyed reading, gardening, cooking, going to the movies, and fellowship with all her friends. She especially loved to dote on her pets and had an impeccable eye for keeping a beautiful home and yard.
Colleen is preceded in death by her loving husband, Ned Roeder; her birth mother, Clara Floyd; her father and step-mother, James Floyd and Flora Hawkins Floyd; her son, Eugene Franklin Blake, Jr.; and her brother, Everett Colon Floyd.
Colleen is survived by her children, Cynthia (Walter-deceased) Einkauf, David Hill, Alan Hill, Debbie (Ben Silva) Hill, and Stacey (J.D.) Johnson; grandchildren, Todd (Shelly) Einkauf, Jason (Kim) Einkauf, Heather (Randy) Emshoff, Collin (Emmanuelle) Hill, Byron (Gercende) Hill, and Jade (Andrew) Archibald; nine great-grandchildren, Kailey and Bryce Einkauf, Kinsley and Kale Emshoff, Antalya, Alister, and Eliott Hill, Blake and Abigail Archibald; sister, Betty Youngquist and her niece, Tracy Youngquist.
As you can see, Colleen’s love of life didn’t come to an end with her death, she has many loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
A special thank you for the excellent healthcare Colleen received from Mark Rasmusson M.D., Beth, Ida, and Jill; Terry and Tyna with Prime Home Health Care; and Brenda with Corpus Christi Hospice.
