Obituary

Cynthia Lorraine Herrera, age 56, passed away on October 10, 2021. She was born on December 23, 1964 to Marcelo Garcia and Noemi B. Garcia in Corpus Christi, Texas. Cynthia was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from West Oso High School in 1982. She was an honor student and attended Our Lady Of The Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.

Cynthia married her husband, Michael Herrera of 28 years on December 30, 1993. She was employed by Alorica. Cynthia was a loving mother, sister, aunt, cousin, daughter and grandmother. She was a strong and independent woman, she was able to take care of her family and did it with a smile even through all her pain.

Cynthia enjoyed going to the beach, football- of course The Dallas Cowboys. She will always be remembered for her love of laughter, sense of adventure and devotion to family.

She was the most loving grandmother to her 7 grandchildren. She looked forward to taking her grandchildren to their little league games and was known as “Nana” to them. Every moment she shared with them was a breath of fresh air for her.

Cynthia is preceded in death by her father, Marcelo Garcia and her first born child, Cyndi L. Herrera. She lost her daughter three years ago. Even though the pain of losing a child broke her heart she did everything possible to be strong and continue living. She knew she would see her again one day we just didn’t know that she would join her up in Heaven so soon.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Michael; her daughter, Chelsae and her seven grandchildren, Veronica, Anthony, Michael, James, Omar, Riley and Caylah-Rose. Her mother, Noemi Garcia; step-father, Walter Jones; her sister, Herlinda Soliz; brothers, Jose E. Garcia, Joey A. Garcia; step-mother, Shelly Garcia and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
