Delia Munoz Gonzalez

Delia Munoz Gonzalez (Dee) passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 3, 2018 from a cardiac arrest at the age of 71. She was born in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico on January 8, 1947 to Delia Pro de Munoz and Francisco A. Munoz. She was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas where she attended Furman Elementary School, Wynn Seale Junior High School, Roy Miller High School and graduated from W. B. Ray High School in 1965. Delia graduated from Del Mar College and was elected Del Mar Viking Queen in her freshman year. She earned a Summa Cum Laude Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Corpus Christi State University in 1979. After graduation, she taught in Sinton Texas and George Evans Elementary School in Corpus Christi. Delia retired from teaching from the Corpus Christi Independent School District after 22 years of teaching.
While studying at Del Mar College, she met her husband Romeo V. Gonzalez (RV). They were married on December 16, 1967 and just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They were blessed with two children: John and Laura. Delia deeply cherished her husband, children, sisters, relatives and friends.
After retiring, Delia attended just about every cooking class offered at Heritage Park. She also enjoyed ceramics and created some beautiful pieces and even won an award for a cup she designed. She enjoyed “popcorn refills” watching romantic comedies at the movies, going out to eat, and shopping. She was the queen of coupons and sales! Delia enjoyed her gambling casino trips with family and friends and her daily workouts at the YWCA with her friends.
Delia loved her pet dogs and gave generously of herself to family and friends. She will always be remembered for her beauty, generosity, sense of humor, wit, endless wisdom, warmth and outgoing personality. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Delia is preceded in death by her mother, Delia Pro de Munoz, and father, Francisco A. Munoz. She is survived by her husband, Romeo (RV) Gonzalez, son, John (Cosmina), daughter Laura and two sisters Elvia Carranza (Daniel) and Silvia Prezas (Raul) of Corpus Christi, Texas.

A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 6th at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel.
A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Seaside Memorial Park.
