Donald Lee Yates

Donald Lee Yates, age 82, passed away February 23, 2021, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. He was born on April 13, 1938 to Andrew Jesse Yates and Mae Elizabeth Yates in Alabam, Arkansas. He was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, were he graduated from W.B. Ray High School in 1957.

Donald married his wife, Lois Dillman, of 58 years on March 18, 1960. He retired from Moorhouse Construction. Donald was a loving father, husband, son, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed traveling, golf, fishing, designing, building, wood working, and dancing with his best friend/wife. He will always be remembered for his love of his beloved wife, Lois, who was always by his side. We never saw one without the other. They are now together again and waltzing across Heaven. He was very devoted to his entire family.

Donald is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mae Yates; his wife, Lois Dillman Yates; his brothers, Harris, Walter, Chester, and Bobby Gene Yates; his sisters, Dorothy Dunn, Catherine McMahan and Georgiann Jones.

Left to Cherish his memories are his daughters, Terri Burkhart (Brent) and Vicki “Turtle” Yates; seven grandchildren, Chad Burkhart (Lara), Courtney Ryan (Chris), Audrey Bode (Matt), Logan Crisp (Kathy), Lacey Moore (Donnie), Cameron Crisp (Maegen), and Lauren Barker; thirteen great-grandchildren, Michael, Austin, Elizabeth, Kaydance, Gweneth, Evan, Riley, Lane, Aiden, Emmie, Caleb, Corban, and Lincoln; as well as many nieces and nephews.
