Dottie Chiles, departed from this earth for her eternal home on June 6, 2021. She is survived by her two daughters, Kim Chiles and Kellie Williams, of Corpus Christi; son-in-law, John Williams; two adorable grandchildren, Maddie and Andrew Williams; a brother, Connie Brown, of Corpus Christi; and sister, Beverly Clegg, of Springhill, Tennessee. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, of 54 years, Ron Chiles.
Dottie graduated from Roy Miller High School, Corpus Christi State University, and received two Masters Degrees from Texas A&I University and CCSU. She was a Licensed Professional Counselor, English Teacher and School Counselor in CCISD. She spent the majority of her professional career in Gregory Portland ISD where she served as high school counselor, high school Assistant Principal and Principal, Curriculum Director, Assistant Superintendent, and ended her career as Superintendent in 2001.
Following retirement, she worked at South Texas Children’s Home ministries as a counselor. She also served others in different ministries (Community Bible Study, Crisis Pregnancy Center, STCH Jobs for Life, Vespers, and many others including most recently Awaken Corpus Christi.)
She enjoyed spending time on the water, walking on the beach and serving others. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and encouraging others through Christ’s love.
A “Celebration of Life” Service is scheduled for Saturday, June 12, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at New Life Church Airline campus in Corpus Christi.
