Edna G. “Button” Kurtz, age 96, passed away June 13, 2019. She was born on September 23, 1922 to Frank and Beatrice Giraud in San Antonio, TX.
Edna married her late husband, Albert “Red” Kurtz, of 49 years on January 23, 1945. She enjoyed participating in family functions and will always be remembered for her love of laughter, quiet nature, service in the community and the devotion she had to her family. She was a part of the Catholic Daughters for fifty years.
Edna is preceded in death by her mother Beatrice Giraud, father Ralph Giraud, brothers Frank, Ralph and Eugene Giraud, two sisters Beatrice Wenk and Bernice Larkin. Left to cherish her memories are her five daughters, Nancy (Johnny) Pridgen, Linda (Mal) Luddeke, Sandra (Charles) Bartosh, Paula Kurtz and Deborah (Dee) Rosebrock and special family friend Tommy Koch, eleven grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and one sister Mary Blaney.
The family wishes to thank her devoted caring provider Dora Rosas. The Opus Hospice Care Givers Shannon, Jessica, Jennifer and Susan and the medical staff.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2019 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Entombment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Jimmy Ragan, Johnny Ragan, Chuck Bartosh, Chad Bartosh, Chris Sparks, Cheston Tate and honorary pallbearer Joe Baxley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Muscular Sclerosis.
