Obituary

Elbena “Dorothy” Pavlasek, 84, took her place in heaven alongside her husband on June 30, 2018. Dorothy was born in Robstown, Texas on January 26, 1934 to the late Rudolph and Addie Ordner Maikoetter. Dorothy married John E. Pavlasek on September 21, 1954 in Robstown, shortly thereafter, they moved to Corpus Christi where together they raised four children. They shared 39 wonderful years of marriage before John passed in 1993. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for over 30 years before retiring in 1990. She had a sweet and kind spirit and welcomed everyone to her home with generous hospitality. Dorothy loved her family dearly and cherished her relationships. She was loved by so many, and brought a sense of peace to those that knew her. Dorothy is survived by her children, daughters, Patricia S. Buck (Kerry) of Portland, Sharon J. Hudson (Willis) of Allen, and son, John S. Pavlasek (Kristi) of Plano. Dorothy is preceded in death by her oldest daughter, Shirley A. Felter. In addition, she is survived by brother, Melvin Maikoetter (Annette) of Amarillo, and a sister, Joyce Franklin (Glen) of Tyler, five grandchildren, Kevin Keenan (Amy), Amanda Felter (David), Sterling Hudson, Hunter Hudson and Jacob Pavlasek, four great-grandchildren; Landon Keenan, Macy Keenan, Bailey McCartney, and Madison McCartney. In addition to her father, mother, husband, and daughter, Dorothy was preceded in death by brothers, Virgil Maikoetter, Harry Lee Maikoetter, Gerald Maikoetter, Leroy Maikoetter and sister, Mae Mullenix. Pallbearers are Kevin Keenan, Sterling Hudson, Hunter Hudson, Jacob Pavlasek, Jerry Maikoetter, and Virgil Pavlasek. A special thank you to the staff at Vitality Court Texas Star Assisted Living in Allen, for the love and care you gave our Mom.
A funeral mass will be at 10 am Thursday, July 5, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Corpus Christi, TX. Graveside services will be at Seaside Memorial Park followed by a lunch reception at St. Pius X Catholic Church Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dorothy’s great-grand daughters, Madison and Bailey McCartney.
