Elena C. Garcia

Elena C, Garcia, age 93, passed away on December 5, 2022. She was born on March 15, 1929 to Luis and Manuela Chapa in Hebbronville, Texas. She was raised in Kingsville, Texas. She graduated from Benavides High School in 1949.
Elena married her husband, Homero of 66 years on January 22, 1956. She was employed by Driscoll Children’s Hospital. Elena was a loving mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend.
Elena enjoyed cooking, gardening, singing in the choir, and volunteering. She will always be remembered for her devotion to family.
Elena is preceded in death by Father Luis, Mother Manuela, brothers- Luis Jr., Thomas, Jose D., Atilano, Anestacio; Sisters- Efigenia, Manuela, Maria, Matiana; Niece- Esperanza Rodriguez, and Nephew- Carlos Chapa Sr.
Left to cherish her memories are sons- Homero Jr. (Patricia), Jaime and grandchildren, Aaron, Katherine, and Golden.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:00pm that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church with Interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
