Ernesto Salazar

Ernesto Salazar, age 89, passed away on September 14th, 2021. He was born on December 21, 1931, to Tomas and Trine Salazar in Mission, Texas. He was raised in the beautiful Rio Grande Valley with 8 brothers and sisters. He joined the Air Force in 1951 and make a lifetime commitment to his country. He traveled many places during his military career, met and married the love of his life, Sadie, in Savannah, GA and was married 69 years. They shared their life with two sons, Tony and Ernesto Jr, and their daughter Julie.
He will be remembered for his love of family and friends, as well as his sense of humor. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he leaves behind three grandchildren, Rod A. Huizar, Shannon Mason, Dawn Orlosky and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Seaside Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 8:30 am to 9:30am. Graveside service will follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at 10:00 am.
