Esther B. Soliz

Esther B. Soliz, age 69, passed away July 11, 2019. She was born on December 14, 1949 to Charley and Esther Bernal in George West, Texas. She was raised in George West, Texas and attended Bee County College, where she graduated from in 1976 with a Cosmetology Associates Degree, and in 1981 she graduated with a certification of Clerk Typist Course. She continued her education at SCI and graduated with a Medical Assistant Degree in 1999.
Esther married her husband, Frank Vega, of thirty four years, on February 7, 1985. Esther had her own beauty salon in George West, Texas. She was employed by Dairy Queen for twenty six years and managed the Dairy Queen in Freer, Texas. She spent most of her time in Freer and retired in 1996. Esther was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and cousin.
Esther enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. In her younger years, she liked playing softball. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed working around the yard, watching her favorite western movie, Tombstone and also loved to watch World News daily.
Esther is preceded in death by her mother: Esther B. Bernal; father: Charley Y. Bernal; brother: Armando Estevan Bernal; sister: Rita Bernal Landin; granddaughters: baby girl Esther Soliz, twins Karmela Armor-Alvarez and Kristiana Octubre Alvarez and grandson baby boy Moses James Reyna.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband: Frank Vega; sons: Martin Soliz, Albert Soliz (Jessica) all of Corpus Christi and Danny Soliz (Desiree) of San Antonio; daughters: Stephanie Soliz and Francis Vega (Joel) all of Corpus Christi; brother: Arnulfo Bernal (Nancy) of Victoria; sisters: Ruby Sanchez (Abel) of Corpus Christi, Julie Smithwick (Daryl) of San Antonio; grandsons: A.J. Soliz, Romario Vega, Alixavier Soliz and Andy Alvarez; and granddaughters: Alyssa Soliz, Savannah Soliz, Maleyci Soliz, Marina Soliz, Sandy Alvarez, Allyssa Trevino and Jaylynn Trevino.
A Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are: Martin Soliz, Albert Soliz, Danny Soliz, A.J. Soliz, Arnulfo Bernal Jr. and Abel Sanchez.
