Eula Mae Green Shaw was born on October 26, 1925 to Mildred and Gabriel Green in Corpus Christi, TX, and was the youngest of five children. Eula was baptized at Holy Cross Catholic Church in 1930, attended Holy Cross Catholic School and later graduated from Solomon M. Coles HS in 1941.
In August of 1946, Eula married Milton F. Shaw, and to this union, three daughters were born, Carolyn Shaw, Marsha Shaw Hardeman, and Gloria Shaw Hamilton.
Eula was employed for over 30 years at Lichtenstein’s Department Store, retiring as manager of the Ladies Alterations Dept.
After retiring, Eula loved volunteering full-time at Holy Cross Church. As a devout Catholic, Eula served as a Lector and sang in the choir. She was president of the Altar and Rosary Society as well as the Holy Cross Parish Federal Credit Union. Eula also worked tirelessly with the Holy Cross Food Pantry, Church-Women United, Salvation Army Mobile Food Canteen, and Loaves and Fishes Dining Hall. When not volunteering, Eula spent her free time traveling and bowling in several senior leagues around the city.
Eula was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Milton F. Shaw, her parents, Mildred and Gabriel Green, her siblings, Dorothy Green Winn, Curtis Green, Lois Green, Clarence Green, and a grandchild, Robert F. Hamilton.
Eula is survived by her daughters Carolyn Shaw, Marsha Shaw Hardeman (Frederick), and Gloria Shaw Hamilton (George Jr.). Two nieces: Dorothy Collier (AJ) and Linda Green Freeman. Four Grandsons: Stephen Shaw Wagner (Tina), George “Trey” Hamilton III (Tonya), Kevin Hardeman, and Korey Hardeman. Nine Great-Grandchildren: Anthony Wagner, Stephanie Wagner, Ashleigh Wagner, Karsten Hardeman, Kylie Hardeman, Cydny Hamilton, Sydney Jackson, Kaden Hardeman, and Tristan Hardeman. Two Great-Great Grandchildren: Shana Green and Anthony Wagner II.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home, with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
