Evangeline Minchew

May 4, 1935 – January 18, 2023

Our dear and beloved mother, Evangeline “Eva” Vasquez-Minchew went to be with her Lord at the age of 87, she was born in Hebbronville, Texas, and resided in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne F. Minchew in year 1990. He was the love of her life; she never remarried. Together they raised and are survived by their children; daughters Cindy (Bill) Carr; Delaine (Marty) Brown; and son Chuck (Bobbi) Minchew. She was the beloved grandmother “Nana” to; Myra (Larry) Gingold, Geena (David) Renfro, Clayton Brown, Troy (Lea) Brown, Molly (Chris) Wight, Ryan (Crystal) Minchew, Kelly Ann Minchew; the great-grandmother to 11 children; she was “Nana” to all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Valentine and Seferina Vasquez; four siblings; Maria Elma (Glenn) Lee; Americo (JoAnn) Vasquez; Juan “Johnny” (Celinda) Vasquez and Elsa (Sonny) Cantu and beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

She was our greatest treasure, she was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and friend to many who were blessed to know her. She loved all unconditionally and saw the best in everyone she knew. She loved to watch Hallmark movies, crochet, play games and to spoil her grandchildren with unconditional love and support.

A Special thank you to her grandchildren Josh and Kylie Gingold for playing the guitar and singing to her during her final days of life. A special thank you to her daughter-in-law Bobbi Minchew for all the selfless acts of care given to her during her final days of life. She will be forever missed by all who knew her. May she forever rest in peace.

A visitation will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023 from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M. Celebration of Life, Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:30 P.M. at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel followed by Interment at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi, Texas.
