Obituary
Evelyn Lane entered into eternal peace on Friday, September 14, 2018, in Tomball, Texas, at the age of 86.
Evelyn is survived by her loving family: her son, Richard “Dick” Lane, Jr., and his wife, Carla; son, John Clark Lane, and his wife, Linda; son, Gerry Lane; son, David Lane; daughters, Linda Shirar and Debbie Stewart; stepdaughters Katherine Robinson and Linda Lane; grandchildren: Lindsey and Mark Hendrix, Ashley Lane, Brooke and Tyler Weldon, Joshua Johnson, Steven and Stephanie Lane, Madison Lane, Jared Lane, April and Brandon, John Clark Lane, Jr., Nick and Sherry Mills, Taylor and Lauren Mills, Tony MacNeil; and great-grandchildren, Tanner, Talon, Dominick, Valentina and Kyelynn. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Richard “Dick” Lane, Sr.; mother, Martha; stepfather, Luis Traveland; and daughter-in-law, Pamela Lane.
Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a good friend. She earned her pilots license in 1984 and enjoyed travelling the country with her husband and children while running the family used car business in Mathis, Texas. After many years working for Joe Myers Century 21 Real Estate, she retired with her husband to their home on Lake Corpus Christi. Her fondest days were spent there, grilling in the backyard with family and neighbors, tending to her garden, and watching waterfront sunsets from their back porch. She was an avid reader and writer, and was dedicated to chronicling her family’s history. Evelyn’s quick wit, endearing smile, grace, spirit and dignity will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
A Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Seaside Funeral Home Chapel, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas. A Funeral Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers are her sons, Dick and Clark, and grandsons, Steven, Tony, Mark and Tyler.
